Leopard learns why it shouldn't mess with porcupines

A no-nonsense porcupine showed a leopard why it wasn’t exactly a worthwhile meal in the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

In a video uploaded by a Youtube channel called Endless Summer Tours, a hungry leopard pursues the porcupine multiple times, having to repeatedly withdraw to remove the painful quills in its face and paws.

The porcupine appears to get away without any visible damage, so we’re ruling this one a win for prey everywhere.

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly says he was kicked off plane due to 'cuss words' on guitar case

The rebellious rapper Machine Gun Kelly claims that he was kicked off a plane at a Dallas-area airport because he had “cuss words” written on his guitar case.

“I was just escorted off the airplane by police at the Dallas airport because of the writing on my guitar case,” wrote the rapper, whose real name is Richard Colson Baker. “They had the nerve to compare the fact that there are a couple of cuss words written on it to the seriousness of 9/11. When I told them its my art, they told me ‘that’s not art’ and proceeded to go on some ‘George Bush is a saint and I’m disrespecting his country’-type rant.” Read more…

Toddler plays a game of hide-and-seek with gorilla at the zoo

During a visit to the Columbus Zoo in Ohio, one toddler became extremely interested in the gorilla exhibit, likely because there was a younger gorilla just about his size inside.

After the two came face-to-face at the enclosure’s glass, the gorilla hit the glass and the pair played a quick game of hide-and-seek behind a fake tree in the exhibit as both the boy’s parents as well as the gorilla’s watched.

Eventually, the gorilla becomes bored with the boy’s antics and decides he needs a rest instead

PetBot lures in your dog with treats, all in the name of a good video 'selfie'

Pet selfies. Why not?

The PetBot, which launched on Indiegogo Monday, is a high-tech treat dispenser with a built-in camera that can take video “selfies” of your pets and send them to you.

When the camera detects your too-damn-cute dog or cat in its field of view, it will play a sound (or your recorded voice) in an attempt to get your pet’s attention. (You can also schedule specific times for the PetBot to play sound.) If the animal gets close enough, the PetBot’s camera will start recording a video — and your pet, in turn, receives a tasty treat for cozying up to the lens. The treat dispenser lets you swap in different foods Read more…

Report: New Apple TV to land in October and cost less than $200

What don’t we know by now about Apple’s next-generation Apple TV? Yet another report claims Apple’s new streaming box will launch in October and be priced under $200, according to 9to5Mac‘s Mark Gurman.

While it seems the company is still finalizing the price, the upcoming Apple TV will likely land between $149 to $199. That’d make it pricier than competing boxes and dongles. Google’s Chromecast costs just $35, and Apple’s own third-generation Apple TV currently sits at $69 (down from its $99 debut price).

But the streaming box could be a more robust option than its competitorsAnother report, just days earlier, said the next Apple TV would have remote control with Wii-like motion controls as well as Siri integration. A more powerful A8 chip (the same chip that currently powers the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus) could enable more gaming and entertainment apps. Read more…
